![]() took me some turns to take that mountain pass one though. i decided on spain as its easy enogh to steamroll. Usually easy but i decided to pack my bags and leave for a natural peninsula as a defensive position. My hardest campaign i got defeated as Carthage. ![]() Only advantage I can think of is that there is some scope for seizing Seleucid lands, but after getting enough money for a force to seize Hatra, Egypt got too powerful and steamrolled me. They were the only faction I ever failed to win with on my first go on M/M. Parthia have terrible infantry, and I find sieging very difficult with them - unfortunate becuase you need to grab as many territories early on to prevent bankrupcy. They are surrounded by enemies, most of which are very agressive (Egypt, Armenia in particular), and most factions are spear based (bad for cavalry). They are broke, you get stuck for a long time trying to save enough for a few economic improvements. The reason I choose them over other commonly regarded difficult factions (such as Numidia, Seleucia and Spain), really comes down to the weight of difficulties stacked against them. I think the hardest faction I have played with is definitely Parthia, despite my fondness normally for cavalry troops. I'm wondering what everyone thinks is the most difficult faction (or two if you can't decide), please include your justification. I have seen past threads ranking hardest factions, easiest factions etc, so I'll try to avoid that. Following my comments re: Greek Cities being the easiest (IMO) faction to suceed with I got thinking about which faction is the hardest.
